Policies and Guidelines

State Registration Policy
A+ Help requires that all students attending the home school must be registered with the state they live in. A+ will register your child under you name as A+ Help is an unaccredited and a tutoring facility. Elementary and junior high students may be registered as either non-public or home study. A+ requires a copy of the state approval letter annually for each student’s file.
-
Discipline Policy
Students attending sessions with A+ Help are held accountable for their behaviors and are expected to follow these rules.
Be respectful to instructors, classmates and parents.
Obey instructors and follow their instructions.
Be honest and trustworthy. Set a good example for classmates.
Listen and be attentive to instructors’ teachings. Do not disrupt others.
-
Discipline Procedure
First offense will result in a warning and parent notification.
Second offense will result in a written behavior report and a detention.
Third offense will result in a parent conference to develop a plan of action.
Fourth offense may result in dismissal from A+ Help.
-
Cell Phone Policy
All cell phones are to be in the designated place in each instructor’s room prior to the beginning of school. Failure to turn in a cell phone will result in the phone being taken away, given only to a parent, and a detention. Repeated offenses will result in the inability to bring the cell phone to school at all. If the instructor gives permission for the use of cell phones during class for research or music and the student is caught texting, using social media or any other non-sanctioned activity, the phone will be taken away. Instructors have the right to confiscate cell phones for a 24-hour period with parental permission as a disciplinary action.
-
Fighting Policy
A+ Help will not tolerate any fighting and all students participating in or instigating a fight may be dismissed from A+ Help. Verbal altercations of a threatening or profane manner or instigating of a fight may also result in a dismissal from A+ Help.
-
Harassment or Bullying Policy
A+ Help takes bullying and harassment very seriously and has no tolerance in regard to these behaviors. Bullying occurs when one or more individuals inflict physical, verbal, emotional, mental or sexual abuse on another or others. All incidents should be reported to the instructors and director immediately. The “bully” or “harasser” may be dismissed from A+ Help. Any information provided by witnesses will be held in the strictest confidence. This includes evidence or reports of electronic/cyber bullying.
-
Health Policy
A+ Help asks all students to NOT attend school or tutoring sessions when ill. Please stay home and do not return until 24 hours have passed. This will help prevent others from getting sick. If a student contracts lice, the student will not be allowed to return until all lice and nits are removed. If there is a breakout of lice in the school, all parents will be notified. If a student has a ringworm, parents must cover it with a Band-Aid every day until it is gone. If a student is sick, the student and parent will be sent their coursework to complete at home.
